Amalia Nieto-Gomez
is the Executive Director of the Alliance of the SouthEast (ASE). She also co-directs the Coalition for a South Works CBA, a diverse and broad-based Coalition of 35+ organizational members, including churches, schools, businesses, block clubs, youth, and non-profits on Chicago’s southeast side. The Coalition empowers residents to obtain a Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs), written agreements between developers & the community to ensure developments benefits residents, including job/education/training opportunities, affordable housing, & environmental sustainability. Coalition members have met with 7 developers, including Invest South/West in South Chicago and the CTA assembly plant.
