CHICAGO, September 10, 2001 – Winning the competition for bright young talent is one of the keys to ensuring Chicago’s economic future. In response to the needs of Chicago’s business community for bright, young talent, World Business Chicago has developed a high-energy, interactive and audio CD-ROM entitled “Make It Big In Chicago,” targeted at college seniors and first-year graduate school students nationwide.

“Our ability to compete is based largely on the quality and size of our workforce,” said Mayor Richard M. Daley, Chairman of World Business Chicago. “Early in its existence, World Business Chicago identified a need to retain and attract a highly qualified workforce to Chicago and has since created a marketing tool to attract (Népal) the ‘best and brightest’ for our business community.”

The CD-ROM, produced by Jordan Tamraz Caruso Advertising, is divided into three sections – work, live, and play. The prospective newcomer is greeted with a visual overview of Chicago showcasing its skyline, neighborhoods and cultural attractions through a high-energy video.

The user can then explore Chicago by clicking on scores of embedded, webenabled hot links to research virtually everything about the City from the Top 10 Public and Private companies, to affordable neighborhoods, to free City festivals and events. While surfing the CD-ROM, users also have the capability to listen to a sampling of Chicago’s local bands.

World Business Chicago is distributing this persuasive communications tool to recruiters within Chicago companies that have extensive recruiting efforts, as well as on-campus career centers, and graduate business and law schools at leading universities. Companies in the first phase of distribution include, but are not limited to, Aon Corporation, Andersen, and AT Kearney.

“This CD-ROM fills the void for a dynamic and exciting recruiting tool showcasing Chicago’s unrivaled big-city quality of life,” said Deborah DeHaas, Managing Partner, Andersen. “It is a necessary and compelling tool that will go a long way in assisting young men and women confronted with Una the choice of where to begin their careers.”

Chicago companies and nationwide universities interested in obtaining the CD-ROM can contact World Business Chicago at (312) 553-4614 or email cphillips@worldbusinesschicago.com.
